Definition

The period parameter determines how often payroll is run for a payroll accounting area. Each payroll accounting area is assigned one period parameter. Payroll periods are defined for each period parameter.

Examples of standard values are monthly, weekly, and bi-weekly.

Use

The period parameter determines the period to be accounted.

Examples

Period parameter 01 stands for monthly payroll accounting.

Period parameter 01 is assigned the following payroll periods:

Payroll period        Meaning

Payroll period    Payroll year

01    1997    January 1997

02    1997    February 1997

03    1997    March 1997

        etc.

Use

The selection dates are determined using the period parameter. In addition, using the period parameter, table T549Q (Payroll Periods) determines the start date of the first payroll period and the end date of the last payroll period in the year to be evaluated.

Procedure

Examples

In the model firm, period parameter 01 monthly is assigned to payroll period N0 and period parameter 05 four-weekly is assigned to payroll N4.

Use

Procedure

Examples

Dependencies

The period parameter of the loan can differ from the period parameter of payroll. Therefore, we recommend that you use the same period parameter for the loan and for the payroll.

The period parameter of the loan is valid for the interest pattern and the repayment pattern.

Use

The field is filled with default value 01 (monthly). You can alter this default value.

Dependencies

If you enter a weekly period parameter in this field, (for example weekly, bi-weekly or every four weeks), the payroll periods are generated on the day upon which the Start date falls. This dependency does not exist for the other period parameters.

Example

You enter period parameter weekly. You select January 1 2000 as the start date, which falls on a Saturday. In this case, the payroll periods always start on a Saturday, and end on the following Friday.

You enter period parameter semi-monthly. In this case, the payroll periods in your system always start on the 1st and 16th of each month.

Supplementary Documentation - PERMO 0005

Use

In this field, you specify the time period to be used in your system for Payroll.

Dependencies

You must assign a period parameter to each payroll area that you define for your enterprise.

You must also generate payroll periods for each period parameter assigned to a payroll area.
