Source of Data
Under normal circumstances, data for year-end reports is retrieved from the TCRT table of the payroll cluster, which is cumulated over the course of the taxation year.
However, in certain cases, required wage types may be absent from the TCRT table. In such cases, you can select this parameter to read data from the alternate sources described below.
Recreate data from RT
Select this option to bypass the payroll cluster and re-cumulate the relevant data, period by period. The data from the newly compiled TCRT table becomes the data used to generate year-end reports.
Given data processing considerations, we strongly recommends that you use this function only when no other alternatives are available.
Read data from TemSe
Select this option to bypass the payroll cluster and retrieve submission data from a TemSe file saved during a previous run. To use this option, you must specify the name of the TemSe file in the corresponding field. For information on the creation of TemSe files, see Write Data to TemSe file.
Read data from Magnetic Media
Select this option to read data from magnetic media, rather than the payroll cluster. Specify the drive and directory of the magnetic media file in the corresponding field; the system automatically creates the file name.
The default entry for this field is "a:\rcttax.001", reflecting the default drive and directory ("a:\") and the default name for the first file to be submitted to the Canada Revenue Agency ("rcttax.001").
