Documentation
Select this run parameter to perform an amendment/ cancelled run for the selected forms and copy types. Depending on whether the amendment/ cancelled run is executed in test mode, one of two outcomes will occur, as described above.
Before you may perform a "live" amendment/ cancelled run (outside of test mode), the system requires that you have performed at least one "live" production run for the selected tax year, Tax Reporting Unit and Year End form. The system also requires that this live production run have been assigned Filed status in the Year End Reporting History Log, accessed above.
If both criteria have been fulfilled, then the system will review payroll results to determine which employees, if any, require amended Year End form submissions. To this end, the system will search for:
- cross-year retroactive payroll results, provided they were
- generated in a closed payroll period, provided the period occurred
- after the period in which the production run was filed and
- before the period in which the amendment run is being generated.
If all four conditions apply, then the system will automatically generate amended/ cancelled Year End data for the selected year, Tax Reporting Unit and form.
"Live" amended runs will be stored in the Year End Reporting History Log under run type AMENDMENT, and Live cancelled runs under CANCELLED along with the forms and TemSe files generated. During printing, all amended Year End forms created under this parameter will be clearly labeled AMENDED or CANCELLED.
