Definition
Establishes which payment card master is active.
The payment card master (table CCARD), previously used in the R/3 System, receives the payment card type (e.g. Visa, American Express) and the payment card number as the technical and semantic key. This technical key must therefore also be used in all the applications that make use of it.
The payment card number, in connection with the payment card type is regarded as sensitive data, since this information is enough to allow the card to be misused.
It was necessary to redesign the payment card master in order to enable the sensitive data to be encrypted.
The payment card GUID forms the technical key in the new payment card master. The sensitive data is kept, encrypted or not encrypted, in a security area.
A conversion from the old to the new payment card master, requires a series of changes and conversions within SAP. For this reason, only SAP can set the indicator, and customers may not change it.
