Definition
Split and evaluation rule for absences.
According to this rule, the absence is split into homogeneous subperiods for payroll.
This means that each subperiod (day or day portions) has one evaluation rule.
The splitting rule for an absence (for a record of the AB internal table) is automatically proposed by the system for that absence (Absence/presence type and Valuation rule fields of the table related to the Group absences for evaluation step of the Implementation Guide).
This splitting rule for absences is present as a key in the main customizing tables:
- Define intervals for absence splitting;
- Define special parameters for days of grace;
- Define limits for days of grace;
- Define secondary rules;
- Define days of grace types.
and drives the reading of the customizing parameters of the same tables.
By these parameters the Secondary or actual valuation rule is determined, i.e. the splitting rule on the record of the AB table after the XNAB function.
The splitting rule is assigned to the single absence, i.e. to the single record of the internal AB table of the RPCALCI0 program.
Further notes
Some absences are processed in the same way during the whole period (for example the compulsory maternity leave or breast feeding). These absences generate only a valuation class, which is defined as a primary or original class.
Other absences are not processed in the same way during the whole period, as they are compensated/integrated in different modes according to the number of absence days (for example illness or accidents at work). These absences generate an evaluation class which, by itself, cannot correspond to a value to be paid to the employee. This is the case wherein the generation of a secondary valuation class is required.
