Definition
Light petroleum products (LPG/NGL) and natural gas volumes are measured at a specific set of standard reference conditions, that is, at a specified temperature and pressure at which the volume is to be measured. For natural gas, the heating value may separately be reported at a second set of temperature and pressure values at which the combustion process takes place.The base pressure (volume) specifies the standard pressure at which the product is to be metered.
