Definition
In some countries, the length of the commodity code for export processing and the length of the customs tariff number (that is, the code number) for import processing are identical.
If you want to record both numbers in table T604 (definition table for these numbers), you can flag the numbers accordingly in order to allow a better monitoring, for example.
Example
- You choose value ' ':
You maintain a number in table T604 which represents both the commodity code and the code number. However, they may have different lengths.
An example for Germany would be if you maintain an eleven-digit code number and use the first eight digits as a commodity code.
Effect on SD export processing: The number stored in the material master is copied into the SD documents (delivery, billing document).
Effect on MM import processing: The number stored in the material master is copied into MM documents and also displayed as code number unless the conversion table T604U has been maintained such that the import code number is converted. - You choose value '1':
You only maintain the code number for import processing.
Effect on MM import processing: The commodity code stored in the material master is copied into the MM documents as commodity code and as code number. You do not need to maintain table T604U. - You choose value '2':
You only maintain the commodity code for export processing.
Effect on SD export processing: The number stored in the material master is copied into the SD documents (delivery, billing document).
Effect on MM import processing: The number stored in the material master is copied into the MM documents.
