Definition
The external data alias is the alias name of a documentation element that is to be taken for the assignment of the individual external datum in a structure supplied with external data.
Use
For the External data supply of a structure or the External data supply of a multiple structure it is the semantics of a documentation element that is identifiable by a name that is decisive for the distribution of individual information about the different documentation elements. In order to be able to ensure this also for the documentation elements of a structure, you have the possibility to assign an alias name for external data integration to a documentation element that is assigned to a document category. However, the assignment of external data by means of the alias name is only activated if the flag Per alias is set for the integrated external data module.
