Definition
The sales tax code is used in place of a tax category that must be taken into account for tax returns to the tax authorities.
The tax codes are unique for each country. The tax rate and other properties are defined in the system for each tax code.
Procedure
For tax free or non-taxable transactions, use tax codes with the percentage rate 0 if they are to be displayed in the tax returns.
Note
When tax rates are changed by legislation, new tax indicators have to be defined. The old indicators with the old tax rates must remain in force until there are no more open items that use this tax indicator.
