Documentation
Definition
Enables you to group various materials either by location or by time for planning and evaluation purposes. For example, you can assign a planning ID to all materials that are manufactured on a certain production line.
The planning ID is assigned to a production version. If you create a material with a certain production version, the planning ID of this version is transferred automatically.
Use
When accessing the planning table by production line, you can limit your selection further by entering a planning ID. This makes sense if, for example, you manufacture a lot of different materials on one production line, but do not process all materials at the same time. You could then use a planning ID to group, for example, all materials manufactured in a specific packaging size. Then you can group the materials together by creating a planning ID per group and entering this planning ID in the production versions.
Planning IDs also allow simpler planning of quantities on production lines, since you can use the planning table to display totals for planning IDs. To do this, you must have created the production line as a planning ID (description of production line = description of planning ID).
Dependencies
If you want to use the planning ID instead of the production version in planning, you must create a work center and enter this work center in the production version in the production line field.
