Definition
Determines how the administrative data for technical data (table MSTA) is updated when material master records are processed.
Use
You have the following options:
- Status-dependent
The system updates a control record for each maintenance status (MRP, Purchasing, and so on) and for each data retention level (client, plant, sales organization, and so on).
- At table level
The system updates only cumulated information for each data retention level; that is, it gives no differentiated information for each maintenance status (view).
- <Blank>
The system updates no administrative data.
Note
If you change this indicator, the system considers the new value for all maintenance transactions after this change; that is, it no longer considers the old entries in table MSTA (before the change) when, in material master maintenance, you subsequently choose Administrative data.

Examples
Status-dependent
The control records can contain, for example, the following information:
MRP data in plant 0001 created on January 01, 1998 by User Pitt and last changed on March 01, 1998 by User Ryan.
Purchasing data in plant 0001 created on February 01, 1998 by User Penn and last changed on April 04, 1998 by User McDowell.
At table level
In the example above, the control record would now contain the following information:
Data for plant 0001 created on January 1, 1998 by User Pitt and last changed on April 4, 1998 by User McDowell.
Dependencies
This indicator has no effect on the function Extend material view(s) (table MOFF).
