Definition
Applied to Production costs for Percentage Overhead in the United States. Used for the percentage component of Operations and Maintenance Overhead in Canada.
This rate will be applied to the costs of cost objects that have an overhead type of Percent Producing in the United States and Operations and Maintenance in Canada.
In Canada, this rate is applied to "Regular" costs incurred by the cost object. The definition of "Regular" costs is controlled via the exclusion set of accounts. If the cost object has an overhead type of Operations & Maintenance, and the account the cost was posted to is not in the Percent 1 exclusion set, then the Percent 1 ("Regular") rate will be applied to that cost. The Percent 1 and Percent 2 exclusion sets of accounts must be constructed carefully to ensure that a cost does not have both rates applied. calculation.
