Definition
Unit of measure in which stocks for the material are managed. The system converts all quantities that have been entered in different units of measure to the basic unit of measure (alternative units of measure).
The basic unit of measure is identical to the stockkeeping unit of measure in Inventory Management.
The IS-M/AM System requires this unit of measure with the -ZT- (time) name.
Dependencies
Since all data updates are performed in the basic unit of measure, it is particularly important to define the way in which they are converted from the alternative units of measure. This is important because a quantity in the alternative unit of measure can only be displayed accurately if its value can be represented using the decimal places available. To ensure that this is possible, you should take account of the following:
- The basic unit of measure is the unit used that satisfies the most detailed criteria in terms of precision.
- Conversions from the alternative units of measure to the basic unit of measure should lead to simple decimal fractions (not 1/3 = 0,333...).
