Indicator for external data transfer. This indicator specifies whether the value fields in the operating concern are transferred in the local currency or the transaction currency.
Use
The value fields of the operating concern, in contrast to other amount fields, are not converted during external data transfer. The conversion takes place at t later time, either during an update or insertion in an ISB table. Also in contrast to other value fields, those of an operating concern are mostly stored using the local currency. The user can thus transfer the fields already "converted" into the local currency. If this is the case, you should leave the currency translation indicator blank. The value fields will then be transferred unchanged. The value fields can also be transferred in the transaction currency. In that case, mark the currency translation indicator with an 'X'. You do not need to set up any additional foreign currency translations for value fields in external data transfer in Customizing. This is because the translation rate to be used is controlled by the costing rule translation category, and this rate is determined for the time and date of the posting.
