Search for business partner using a connected search engine
Use
If you use the search engine service for the business partner (search engine connected, Customizing settings made and index created for business object BUS1006), you can specify that the business partner search in the CIC is also to use this service by selecting this indicator.
Comment: The search fields in the CIC are taken into account in the index if the media-specific class CL_ISM_SE_BUS1006 is used as the indexing class instead of CL_ERP_SE_BUS1006.
This has the following effects:
- The search using the search engine index involves two steps: first, the search data entered is used for a 'linguistic' search (a search for almost the exact text, ignoring pronunciation differences and capitalization). If this search is unsuccessful, a fuzzy search is then performed.
- An alternative 'full text search' is also available for the 'Document Type' field (which is used to define how the system interprets the information in the 'Document Number' field). If you choose this option, the data entered in the 'Document Number' field is used for a full text search in the search engine index. This means you can enter all the data, such as name, city, street, ... sequentially in one field.
