Documentation
Definition
This exchange rate type is used for currency translation of plan, budget and assigned values for investment programs in the Information System.
Use
- In Reports for Current Data
If you want a report to display values in a currency other than the controlling area currency, you can enter a reporting currency on the initial screen of the report.
If the plan, budget or assigned values do not exist in this reporting currency, the exchange rate type you enter here is used to make the currency translation.
For more information, refer to the documentation on the reporting currency. - When Loading the Summarization Database
The exchange rate type entered also plays a role during summarization of investment program data to a central summarization database. If the investment programs/controlling areas in the local system have a different currency than the investment program/controlling area in the central system, then the system translates the values from the local system using this exchange rate type.
In both cases, the system uses the first day of the approval year (of the investment program) as the key date for the currency translation.
