Definition
The hierarchy type can be used to distinguish between different geographical hierarchies. One of the main features of the hierarchy type is the fact that you can specify the uses of the hierarchies it forms.
You can specify for each hierarchy type whether it is to be used for structure maintenance in:
- carrier route structures and/or
- organizational structures
Note
There can only be one hierarchy type for maintaining the carrier route structure and one for maintaining the organizational structure. You can therefore either create two hierarchy types, one for each, or one hierarchy type that can be used to maintain both structures. It is not possible to make a more detailed distinction between hierarchy types.
