Documentation
Definition
Indicates if the system should check the relationships among objects for recursions. A recursion occurs when the system traces the many relationships among objects in a structure, and finds no termination point.
Use
To request a recursion check, select the check box.
Example
If the system traces the relationships within an organizational structure, there will typically be a termination point of the relationships, at the top or bottom of the structure. In this case, requesting a recursion check makes sense, since recursions should not occur.
However, if the system traces relationships among positions, it is possible that recursions might occur, if, for example, substitutes are defined. So here, a recursion check may not be necessary.
