Documentation
Definition
Defines that automatic commitment carryforward to a different fiscal year is permitted for open items.
Use
A commitment document must be in one year only in Funds Management. If a follow-on document is posted in a later fiscal year with period-based commitment update, a commitments carryforward must be triggered manually first if the indicator is not set.
If you set this indicator, the commitment carryforward is executed automatically.
Procedure
Examples
The following examples apply if period-based commitments carryforward is active:
A purchase order was posted in year 2000.
An incoming invoice with a reference to this purchase order can only be posted in 2001 if the purchase order was carried forward to year 2001.
If another invoice is sent to the old fiscal year 2000 after the commitments carryforward has been executed, the commitments carryforward must first be reversed if the indicator is not set.
Dependencies
You can only set this indicator if the period-based commitment update is activated in Customizing in the step Override Update Profile.
If you set this indicator, existing default settings are overridden.
