Use

The system evaluates the type of commitment item in the following cases:

• For check activities for requests
  In the Customizing of component Funds Management Government, you can define that the validity of request postings should be checked for certain commitment item types. This setting ensures that the program checks whether the combination of commitment item and request category entered when requests are posted is allowed. For more information, see the documentation in the implementation guide in step Maintain Type of Commitment Item.
• Information system for German customers
  Reports for the operating budget accesses data that has the characteristic "1" for the type of commitment item. This characteristic must be "2" for reports for the capital budget.

Example

You have assigned commitment item type '1' (operating budget) to a commitment item with item category '3' (expenditure item) and defined in Customizing that the validation is active. You can then enter payment requests for this commitment item, but not acceptance requests.
