Documentation
Definition
This field is used allow an existing benefit plan selection to be carried forward into the annual (open) enrolment period for the upcoming benefits year. You set the CarryOver indicator for any benefits plans where the same previously enroled plan can be carried forward as the default plan value for the employee in the next benefits year.
Example
An employee is enroled in a life insurance plan with a coverage option of four-times annual salary in the current benefits year. When annual (open) enrolment is opened for the upcoming benefits year, this life insurance plan will have two possible defaulted options for the employee to choose:
- If you set the CarryOver indicator for this plan, the current four-times annual salary coverage plan option will be carried forward into the annual (open) enrolment period as the default plan option.
- If you do not set the CarryOver indicator for this plan, it will be assigned the system default option, which may be different to the current insurance plan option selected by the employee.
Note:
In order to allow the carrying forward of plans, you must also set the Carry Over Action indicator for each adjustment reason under which you wish benefit plan options to be carried forward. You set this indicator in the Benefits Administration IMG step Assign Adjustment Reason for Benefits Plan Carried Forward (FLEX).
