General
Identifies the IDoc.
Use
The IDoc interface uses the internal number assignment to determine the IDoc identification number. This number is used for all clients (i.e. it is client-neutral).
Using an EDI subsystem:
Outbound IDocs:
If you are using an EDI subsystem, the subsystem must store the IDoc number temporarily and enter it in the status records that are transferred subsequently for this IDoc. The IDoc number is the only way that the SAP system can assign the status records to an IDoc.
Inbound IDocs:
The field may only be filled by the interface.
Inbound status records:
The field must be filled with the IDoc number of the IDoc to which the status record refers.
