Definition

Internal, technical key of a business object in the Business Object Repository (BOR).

Business objects are identified in the BOR by their object type (e.g BUS2032) and a descriptive name in English (e.g. SalesOrder). All business objects must have a unique object type and name.

External applications often use the descriptive name, whereas internally in the BOR they are usually identified by their object type. Originally, only the internal key was used but due to the widespread use of business objects it has become necessary to assign names to them. For compatability reasons both descriptions are used.

The object type can have a maxium of 10 characters.
