Definition
If you use Application Link Enabling (ALE) to link multiple R/3 Systems, you can distribute the cost centers of a given controlling area among these systems. You can post to a cost center from any system using distribution.
The distribution method determines which data is carried in which system:
- No Distribution to Other Systems
Controlling area and all related objects (cost centers, orders, ...) known only in the local system; no data distribution to other systems.
- Distribution Method 1: Centralized Cost Centers
Master data of cost centers, cost elements, activity types distributed to other systems; cost center transaction data maintained in central (logical) system of controlling area; posting items with cost center account assignments sent from other systems to central system.
- Distribution Method 2: Centralized or Decentralized Cost Centers
Master data of cost centers, cost elements, activity types distributed to other systems; cost centers with home (logical) systems for maintenance of transaction data; posting items with cost center account assignments sent from other systems to home system of cost center; overarching evaluations of summarized transaction data possible via central system.
