Documentation
Definition
This indicator controls whether a costing variant can be used with this costing type for costing a product cost collector.
Use
In Product Cost by Period, you can create a preliminary cost estimate to determine the planned costs for a product cost collector. Examples of how you can use the preliminary cost estimate include:
- valuating work in process
- valuating unplanned scrap
- calculating production variances
Valuating work in process and scrap is particularly useful in repetitive manufacturing.
- determining the quantity structure on which the simultaneous costing is based
The quantity structure for this cost estimate is created using the data in the production version and not using the quantity structure determination ID in the costing variant. The quantity structure is valuated in accordance with the Costing Variant Actual.
Dependencies
The costing variant is proposed through the order type of the production cost collector when costing is carried out.
The repetitive manufacturing profile enables you to determine whether the preliminary cost estimate is used as the basis of simultaneous costing on confirmation of the internal activities.
