Documentation
Definition
The 10-position object name is not sufficient for identification.
In such cases an object can be more exactly specified with the name extension.
At the moment this is required for indexes which are not to be accessed with the database index name (8-position) but with the table name and index code. The index code is then looked upon as the name extension.
