Definition

Allows access to the ID numbers for a business partner using a program.

Use

A program can determine, using the ID category the identification typeassigned to the category in Customizing and thus access specific ID numbers for a business partner.

You can also define your own ID categories and their attributes in Customizing.

Dependencies

The assignment between the ID category and ID type is unique. This ensures that determining the type is always precise.
Once you have defined an ID category, you should also assign it an ID type.
