Definition

Number used by the customer for unique identification of the purchasing document (e.g. inquiry or purchase order).

Use

The number is a link between the customer's purchase order and the sales documents that you created. You can use this number for correspondence with the customer for finding certain document information. If the number refers to a purchase order, you can also print documents that you wish to send to the customer (e.g. the delivery note).

In repairs processing, this number can be used as the RMA number (return material authorization).
