Definition

This indicator is only relevant for return postings. Return postings
can be returned debits, returned cash transfers or returned checks.

The indicator triggers the check to see if the bank can assert a claim
for interest loss from the payment recipient/presenter.

Prerequisite for this is that, depending on the transaction type, the
amount of the payment order exceeds a certain minimum amount.
If this is the case, interest is calculated using the value date of the
original item and the current posting date. If the interest loss determined exceeds the minimum amount defined for the bank are, the claim for interest loss can be asserted.
