Documentation
Definition
Balance sheet key date of previous fiscal year.
Supplementary Documentation - BILTAG_KK 0001
Use
If you have not yet completed your accounts for the last fiscal year, you have to enter the balance sheet key date here.
This prevents documents that you need for the open item list in Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable (FI-CA) from being archived.
If you have completed your accounts, and created the relevant open item list, further archiving runs do not consider this date.
Procedure
Examples
You have not yet completed your accounts and you set the balance sheet key date for this archiving run.
A document was posted before the balance sheet key date and cleared after the key date. In accordance with the document type lives and the retention period, the document could be archived.
However, the balance sheet key date set for the run has the effect that the document is not archived because the document is an open item and is required for the open item list.
Once you have completed closing, do not set a balance sheet key date for the archiving run. The document is then archived.
