Definition

This indicator means that actual costs can be split according to target costs.

Use

  • In cost object controlling, actual costs that cannot be allocated to a product are allocated to a cost object hierarchy. These actual costs are distributed to the products on the basis of the target costs for each product. Variances are calculated for each product.
  • In cost center accounting, the activity-independent actual costs are apportioned to the activity types according to the target costs for each activity type. If the system cannot calculate the target costs, apportionment is via equivalence numbers (such as, capacities, statistical bases, equivalnce numbers, units of activity). These values form the basis of variance calculation.
