Definition

An indicator used for an active XML DAS instance.

Use

This indicator determines with which XML Data Archiving Service the application system communicates. There must be exactly one active XML DAS instance per client; it is possible to have the same active instance for all clients. For test purposes it may be useful to save several HTTP connections to different XML DAS instances. However, if you already carried out archiving sessions switching to a different XML DAS instance could cause inconsistencies between archive administration in the application system and the new XML DAS hierarchy. Resources that were already archived can only be accessed again if the original XML DAS instance is reactivated. Switching to a new XML DAS instance does not have any immediate effects on programs that are currently running. A new XML DAS instance is used only after the XML data archiving programs or transaction SARA have been restarted.
