Definition

Indicator: when a multiple BOM is exploded, the BOM found is determined by the alternative you enter.

Use

Components of multiple BOMs that have their own BOM are only exploded if the alternative you entered exists.

Procedure

Set this indicator if you have entered a specific alternative which you want the system to search for.

Examples

An existing multi-level multiple BOM has a number of alternatives:

  1. If you enter 03 in field "Alternative" and enter X in field "Alternative priority", the system explodes alternative 03 of the three-level multiple BOM in full.

  1. If you enter 02 in field "Alternative" and enter X in field "Alternative priority", the system only explodes the multiple BOM down to levels 1 and 2, as only these levels exist for the requested alternative 02.

    As other alternatives exist, the system sets an indicator on the second level.
