Definition

This indicator ensures that the object links of the old version
remain the same in the target system when a new version is distributed using ALE.

Use

You can add further object links for a version in the target system even if these do not exist in the source system. This indicator ensures that the object links that added are not overwritten when the new version is distributed via ALE from the source system.

Procedure

Examples

Version 01 of a document of document type DRW is distributed using ALE.

  • Version 01 is linked to two materials in the source system.
  • After distribution, version 01 is linked to an equipment and a WBS element in the target system; these links do not exist in the source system.
  • Then version 02 is distributed from the source system to the target system. These links do not exist for this version either.

    In the target system, the link for version 02

    • remains for the equipment because this indicator is set for the link between document type DRW and equipment
    • does not remain for the WBS element because this indicator is not set for the link between document type DRW and WBS element.

Dependencies

This indicator only takes effect if the Maintenance of object links using ALE not possible indicator is set.
