Definition

The address group is a classification of all centrally stored addresses. Every address is assigned to a group when it is created. Address groups are generally defined by an SAP application object.

If an address is to be referenced by several objects, it can be assigned to further groups.

Addresses are assigned by calling function modules in the SAP application programs and this requires further adjustments in the affected applications.

Address assignment to further address groups by the end user is not supported.

Use

Specification of the address group - explicitly or by the application program - searches among all addresses.

When addresses are maintained using the parameter transaction SADR, an authorization check is performed, in which authorizations can be assigned by address group.

Procedure

Dependencies

Valid address groups are maintained in table TSAD7. The following naming convention applies for the four-character key:

  • For customers
The first character must be "Y" or "Z"
  • For SAP
The first two characters correspond to the application ID, the last two characters can be assigned as desired, for example, as numbers.

Examples

For example, the following can be used as application IDs:
SD Sales and distribution
ME Materials management
CA Cross application
SO SAP office
and so on.
