Use

In this Customizing activity, you can make settings for global parameters relevant to supplier performance management. The global parameters define how SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse (SAP NetWeaver BW) controls certain aspects of the scoring of the supplier's performance. You can make settings for the following global parameters:

  • ACCELERATING_UPDATE (by default the data type is a character string)

You can use this parameter to influence performance levels when SAP NetWeaver BW updates the Score for Supplier Performance Management DataStore object using the data collected in the Collector for Supplier Performance Management DataStore object. The Collector for Supplier Performance Management DataStore object collects transactional business data from the DataSources that extract the data from SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC). The Collector for Supplier Performance Management DataStore object often collects multiple data records of the same data, which results in a lot of redundant data. Therefore, updating the Score for Supplier Performance Management DataStore object from the Collector for Supplier Performance Management DataStore object can sometimes take a long time.

By setting this parameter to Y (Yes), you can accelerate the update of data to the Score for Supplier Performance Management DataStore object. If you set this parameter to Y, SAP NetWeaver BW deletes all redundant data records and only updates the Score for Supplier Performance Management DataStore object with the most up-to-date data records from the Collector for Supplier Performance Management DataStore object.

  • CHECK_IO_VALUES (as default the data type is a character string)

You can use this parameter to check if all transactional business data relevant to the scoring of the supplier's performance is present when SAP SNC extracts the data to SAP NetWeaver BW. To check this, SAP NetWeaver BW uses the table RSBCTSDPR_CHKVAL. For each document type relevant to supplier performance management, you can set up the table RSBCTSDPR_CHKVAL to list the fields for which data must be present to score the performance of the supplier. If you set this parameter to Y, SAP NetWeaver BW checks the data in the DataSources to see if all relevant fields contain data. If a field that must contain data does not, SAP NetWeaver BW does not consider the data record when scoring the supplier.

  • COMMON_UOM (as default the data type is a character string)

You can use this parameter to control the logic that SAP NetWeaver BW uses to assign a unit of measure (UoM) to a product if none has been assigned before the data was transfered from SAP SNC to SAP NetWeaver BW. In supplier performance management, this parameter may be needed when scoring the supplier based on the shipping discrepancy rating criteria. For example, SAP NetWeaver BW may be using alert data records that contain a product which has no UoM assigned to it. If this happens, SAP NetWeaver BW can determine the UoM for the product by using the following logic:

    • First SAP NetWeaver BW checks the Product (0APO_PROD) InfoObject. This InfoObject contains product master data from SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (SAP APO). If SAP NetWeaver BW finds an active version of the InfoObject that contains the relevant product with a UoM assigned to it, SAP NetWeaver BW assigns the UoM to the product referenced in the alert.
    • If SAP NetWeaver BW does not find an active version of the InfoObject, it checks if there is a modified version of the InfoObject that contains the relevant product. If SAP NetWeaver BW finds a modified version of the InfoObject that contains the relevant product and a UoM, SAP NetWeaver BW assigns the UoM to the product referenced in the alert.
    • If there is neither an active version of the InfoObject nor a modified version of the InfoObject, SAP NetWeaver BW assigns the UoM you have specified in this Customizing activity to the product.
  • CONSIDER_MANUAL_ASN (as default the data type is a character string)

You can use this parameter to control if SAP NetWeaver BW considers manually created advanced shipping notifications (ASNs) when scoring the performance of the supplier. This setting can be of use to the customer if they do not want manually created ASNs to count towards a positive performance rating for the supplier. Fore example, a manually created ASN may be necessary if the goods receipts has already taken place in the ship-to location but the supplier has forgotten to create the ASN. In this case, the customer must create the ASN for the supplier. If you set the parameter to N (No), SAP NetWeaver BW does not consider manually created ASNs.

  • EOR_MAX_SCORE_REDUCT

This parameter is not relevant for supplier performance management.

  • SHOW_DEBUG_MESSAGES (as default the data type is a character string)

In the standard system, you can use the application log (SLG1) transaction to monitor standard error messages related to supplier performance management. You can use this parameter to show more detailed messages for supplier performance management.

  • TIME_ZONE_REPORTING (as default the data type is a character string)

You can use this parameter to ensure that SAP NetWeaver BW converts time stamps that use coordinated universal time to the time zone you specify in this Customizing activity.
