Use
In this Customizing activity, you create network types by entering an ID with up to 4 characters and a description. In the transaction Create Object Network, you choose one of these network types for your network.
You assign your network attribute categories to these network types in Customizing for Linear Asset Management in the activity Assign Network Attribute Categories to Network Types, so that you can record network attribute values and changes. You can assign a network attribute category to more than one of these network types.
You can also activate the creation of change documents for a network type.

Example
You create network type 'R' for railway network, 'M' for maintenance network, and 'P' for production network. You assign network 0001 to network type 'R'. You create the network attribute category 'RAIL' for attributes such as the left and right rails of your railway tracks, and assign 'RAIL' to network types 'R' and 'M'.
