In this step, you can redefine the existing matchcodes for service entry sheets.
Before processing matchcodes, please read the following work steps, which contain further information.
- Matchcode concept
This step describes how matchcodes are compiled in the SAP System.
- Create matchcode
This step describes how to proceed if you wish to create a matchcode in the ABAP/4 Dictionary.
- Matchcode utility
This step describes how the matchcode utility is handled. You use the matchcode utility to compile matchcodes that are physically stored.
Further notes
Maintenance of matchcodes necessitates technical knowledge of the ABAP/4 Dictionary. Leave matchcode maintenance to your system administrator.
Note that a large number of matchcodes can impair the performance of the system. Check which matchcodes you wish to use in your area. You can deactivate matchcodes that you do not wish to use.
Matchcodes are created on a supra-client basis.
Note
If you define your own matchcodes, you may not define the matchcode IDs as program-controlled.
If you had already created service entry sheets before defining your own matchcodes, you may have to recompile the latter (depending on the update type).
(For example, in the case of update type 'I' you need not recompile the matchcode.)
To do so, choose the menu options "Utilities -> Matchcode data -> Compile" in the transaction "Matchcode".
Standard settings
The matchcode Object "ESSR" is supplied with the following matchcode IDs:
Matchcode ID searches for service entry sheets
T by short text
Activities
- Check whether the matchcodes provided in the standard system are sufficient for your needs.
- Supplement the existing matchcode objects by further matchcode IDs or create new matchcodes if necessary.
