With this stock removal strategy you can influence the search for bin stock in such a way that for each stock removal a storage bin (that is defined in the material master) is proposed for stock removal. This bin is also proposed even if the stock is negative (from a posting point of view).
If you want to use this stock removal strategy, you should set up replenishment control for this fixed bin.
Example
When you create a TO using a delivery note, the system makes sure - using the availability check in Shipping - that enough material is available for this delivery note. The availability check does not take into consideration the stock situation in the Warehouse Management system in the respective fixed bin. If the system can ensure that at the time of picking the respective picking bin actually has a physical stock, this strategy can be used to create a TO for stock removal - even if the fixed bin has a negative stock posting figure. Of course, the stocks in the bin must be replenished at a later point. This can be done, for example, using the replenishment function (either manually or through batch input).
Requirements
A fixed bin is assigned in the material master for the materials in question (storage type view).
Activities
- Decide whether you want to use this stock removal strategy.
- Activate the stock removal strategy Fixed bin in the stock removal control of the respective storage type.
