Use

In this IMG activity, you define VAS work centers for your warehouse.

The activity is based on the Handling Unit Management activity Set Profile for Packing Station.

Requirements

  • You have defined non-storage unit managed storage types for VAS in IMG activity Define Storage Type.
    • The SU mgmt active indicator is not set for these storage types.
    • The storage types are not in the search sequence for picking/putaway strategies (Customizing for Logistics Execution -> Warehouse Management -> Strategies)
  • You have created storage bins for this storage type (From the SAP Easy Access menu: Logistics -> Logistics Execution -> Master Data -> Warehouse -> Storage Bin -> Create)

Standard settings

Activities

Define each work center as follows:

  1. In the Work Center field, enter a name for the work center.
  2. In the Warehouse field, enter the warehouse number.
  3. If the work center is a specific bin of a storage type, enter the storage type and storage bin in the Storage Type and Storage Bin fields.
  4. If the work center is a storage type with a number of different bins, enter only the storage type in the Storage Type field.
  5. Leave the Plant and Storage Location fields blank.
  6. In the WCSequence field, enter a number from 1 to represent the sequence in which the work centers are located in the warehouse in terms of work performed. Ensure that you do not enter the same number for more than one work center.

In this release, you only fill the fields as described above. Additional functionality involving the remaining fields will be added in subsequent releases.
