Using this customizing setting, you specify how long shipments should stay in the system before they are archived.
The retention time is set for the shipment type of the shipment that is to be archived.

Activities
You can enter different retention times for each shipment type.
If no retention time at all is entered, shipments can be archived immediately (if they fulfill the other criteria).
If you want to set a single retention time for various shipment types, you leave the shipment type field blank and enter the desired time period. The retention time will then be used for all shipment types for which a different time has not already been defined.
Further notes
The retention time is counted in days starting from the date of the last change made to the shipment. For example, a retention time of 30 days means that the shipment will be archived 30 days after the shipment was last changed.
