In the case of inbound calls, if the telephone number of the caller can be determined from the telephone network (e.g. ISDN), a search can be carried out in the R/3 System for the master data of the caller.
The master data is managed by the individual applications. In order to access the data, search and read functions are available in the applications. In the client-wide settings, all the available search and read functions are stored under a user-defined ID. From the user-specific settings, users can select the data to be included in searches when processing inbound calls.
Example
The area 'customer data' should be available for determining caller data. The following function modules, for example, exist:
- Search: CUSTOMER_DATA_SEARCH
- Read: CUSTOMER_DATA_READ
The address data area is defined as follows:
Application Search function Read function Note
CUST CUSTOMER_DATA_SEARCH CUSTOMER_DATA_READ Customer data
Requirements
Standard settings
The following data areas are already configured:
- Business Address Services under the ID ADDR
Recommendation
Activities
1. Create the address data areas. Ensure that the functions to be used for searching and reading have suitable interfaces.
2. Create the explanatory short texts for the address data areas in all the required languages. The description entered in the previous step is already displayed in the logon language. The descriptions are displayed in the logon language of the agent during user data administration if possible.
Further notes
The table and contents are supplied as standard and do not normally require maintenance.
