Use

Forecasting objects are business objects that can be used for forecasting purposes by employees, irrespective of whether they are assigned to these objects.

You can create the following types of forecasting objects:

  • SD orders
  • Internal orders
  • Projects

To create forecasting objects, you create SD orders, internal orders, or projects with a special document type, order type, or project profile respectively. These special document types, order types, and project profiles are defined in a Customizing table which contains the following columns:

  • Company code: Company code of the employee for whom the forecasting objects created with the following types or profiles are valid:
  • SD FCObj.: Document type for SD orders - If this document type is used, the system handles the SD order as a forecasting object.
  • Int.Order FCObj.: Order type for internal orders - If this order type is used, the system handles the internal order as a forecasting object.
  • Proj.FCObj.: Project profile for projects - If this project profile is used, the system handles the project behave as a forecasting object.

Example

If you want to use Projects as forecasting object in company code ABC1, proceed as follows:

  1. Create a new project profile, for example, ZDUMMY.
  2. Insert the following entry in the Customizing table:

Company code | SD FCObj. | Int.OrderFCObj. | Proj.FCObj.

  1. Create a Project with project profile ZDUMMY.

Note:

Existing projects that use the project profile ZDUMMY will be used as forecasting objects even if Step 2 is carried out after they have been created.

You can use transaction LSF_EXEC_ENH_FC to carry out detailed configuration of forecasting objects.
