In this step, you define salary level rules and their attributes so that where an employee is within his/her salary range can be used as an additional criterion in the eligibility process.
Note
This additional criterion can only be used for non-pay scale employees.
Example
You want to award a bonus to employees who earn between 50% and 70% of the salary in the salary range they are in. To do this, you can define a salary level rule and definition that can then be entered in the appropriate eligibility rule.
Requirements
Standard settings
Recommendation
Activities
- Determine which salary level rules you want to define
- Choose New entries
- Enter a name and a text for your salary level rule
- Choose Definition in the navigation area and then choose New entries to access the rule's detail screen
- Enter the relevant percentages
Note
On the detail screen for your rule, you can define the rule's validity in such a way that, you can either define a low to high, meaning that all the employees whose salary level falls between the low and high values are eligible, or you can just define a low, meaning that only the employees who have that salary level are eligible.
Example
Low High
50% 80%
In this instance, all those whose salary levels are between 50% and 80% qualify.
Low
75%
In this instance, only those employees whose salary level is 75% qualify.
- Save your entries
