In this step, you further define the compensation components that are categorized as variable by compensation area.
Wage types for variable compensation components are stored on either the Additional Payments infotype (0015), or the Basic Pay infotype (0008) or a user-defined infotype depending on your selections.
Example
Your organization is based in the USA but has a subsidiary in France. Because the variable compensation components you defined in the Define Compensation Components step do not all apply both countries, you want to assign them as follows:
Compensation area Component
10 USA BONS (Bonus)
10 USA PROF (Profit sharing)
06 France BONS (Bonus)
Requirements
Standard settings
The system contains sample entries that you can use or modify to meet your requirements.
Recommendation
Activities
- Enter the compensation area
- Choose New entries
- Enter a validity period
- Enter one of the variable compensation components that you defined in the Define general compensation components step
- Decide whether you want to update an SAP infotype or a user-defined infotype when you run compensation administration, by selecting either Standard or User-defined.
Note
If you want compensation administration to update one of your own infotypes, you must first implement the user exit in the previous IMG step, see User Exit: Updating User-Defined Infotypes.
- If you have selected Standard, choose an infotype and enter the wage type that is to be added to the infotype record.
- Repeat steps 2 to 6 until you have assigned all your variable componenets to your compensation area and maintained their characteristics.
- Save your entries
Note
You can only assign components to one compensation area at a time. To assign components to another compensation area:
- Choose Back
- Execute the IMG activity again
- Define a new work area and repeat steps 1 to 9
- Save your entries
