Use
In this IMG activity, you can do the following for a specific resource type:
- Change the calculated distance of a route
- Disable a route
Example
Requirements
You have already defined the following:
- General site settings in IMG activity General Settings for TRM
- Nodes in IMG activity Define Nodes and Entries/Exits to/from Zones
- Resource types in IMG activity Resource Management
Standard settings
Recommendation
We recommend that you disable all routes for which there will be no movements between the source and destination (e.g. directly between the goods receipt and goods issue zone). Note that you can do this for zone groups (as mentioned below).
This will reduce the number of lines in the program for route creation (IMG activity Create or Adjust Routes) and thus alleviate memory and rollback segment memory problems.
Activities
- Enter the source node or zone group of the route for which you want to create the exception. You can enter *** if you do not want to limit the exception to a specific source node or zone group.
- Repeat for the destination node or zone group.
- Enter the resource type to which the exception applies.
- Enter a distance for the route or disable it for the resource type.
Example
You could change the calculated distance of a route for a resource type in a number of circumstances, including:
- Where the average horizontal velocity of the resource type is less than the one defined in IMG activity Resource Management
- Where the resource type cannot travel the most direct way to a destination due to some physical limitation
Further notes
For more information on route exceptions, see the Route chapter (Site Map Management -> Route Management -> Route) in the SAP Library for TRM.
