Use

In this IMG activity, you define scheduling profiles for your yards. Each scheduling profile contains default parameters used by the system when performing automatic scheduling of yard locations.

Example

Requirements

  • You have defined yards in IMG activity Define Yards.
  • If you want the default duration of scheduling activities to be calculated based on the rough workload estimate, define the calculation in Customizing for Logistics Execution -> Warehouse Management -> Planning and Monitoring -> Rough Workload Estimate -> Calculate Workload -> Maintain Warehouse Workload.
  • If you want the times of the day in which scheduling can take place to be based on predefined work times/shifts and calendars, you have defined the work times and calendars in Customizing for Logistics Execution -> Shipping -> Basic Shipping Functions -> Scheduling -> Delivery Scheduling and Transportation Scheduling -> Maintain Working Hours -> Working Times.

Standard settings

Recommendation

Activities

Define scheduling profiles. For each profile that you define:

  1. Enter a yard number.
  2. Enter a two-digit identifier for the scheduling profile.
  3. Select the type of document for which you are defining the scheduling profile. If you do not want to limit the scheduling profile to any particular document type, select ** (You may wish to do this if you plan to schedule vehicles that are not assigned to documents).
  4. Select the location class for which you are defining the scheduling profile.
  5. You can set the times of the day in which scheduling can be performed in one of two ways:
    1. If you want to set the earliest and latest times of the day from/by which scheduling can be performed, enter the start and end times of the scheduling time window.
    2. If you want the times of the day in which scheduling can take place to be based on a predefined work time and calendar, choose a working time from the Working times field. The relevant calendar appears in the Cal. field.
  6. In the Def.Duration field, enter the default duration of scheduling activities.
  7. If you want the duration of scheduling activities to be derived from the rough workload estimate, select Wkld Est. If you do not enter a value in this field, the system uses the default duration as entered in step 6 above.
  8. Enter text descriptions for the scheduling profile.
  9. Repeat steps 1-9 for each document type and location class.
