The document category N7RADEXAM contains information for the radiological examination and is linked to the status network to be defined. The status network describes conditions which an examination can have within the work process, and the possible status changes (transitions). We recommend that you orient the description of the work process towards the definitions of the DICOM status for study and report (see further notes). However, you should at least configure the following internal document status in order to be able to support the work process using RIS IS-H*MED RAD:

Document Status    DICOM Status    Meaning

CO (mandatory status, cannot be changed)    Study completed (examination completed)    Study completed indicates the completed image acquisition. The status is set when the service is performed or released. Examinations with Study completed status form the worklist for examinations for which findings must be created (services/images) in the findings work station. This status must be configured.

RE (freely selectable)    Study read (images with findings)    In the findings work station, examinations with the Study read status form the worklist for examinations with findings reports which have not yet been released ("provisional findings"). The examinations are already assigned to the findings report.

Release status (freely selectable)    Report approved (findings released)     Constitutes the quantity of released findings. Released findings are listed in the findings work station in the Radiological Findings worklist.

Cancellation status DL (cannot be changed)         The cancellation status shows that a radiological examination has been canceled. The accessibility of the cancellation status in the status network determines whether the examination can even be canceled in its current status.

RJ (can be changed)        In the findings work station, the RJ status means the examination does not require findings. In the findings work station examinations are set to this status using the Create No Findings function. Examinations in this status will no longer appear in the worklist when you make the selection again. It is advisable to configure the transition from RJ to CO and from CO to RJ if you wish to undo this exclusion.

Note

The document is supplied with the generated dialog application (function group N2RADEXA) and table N2RADEXAM and cannot be generated!

Activities

1. You must declare the examination in your system. You transport the document category N7RADEXAM to the target clients.

  1. You log on to the target client.
  2. You call the ABAP program execution function (transaction se38 ) and execute program RN2UTDTM2. You should also refer to the program documentation.
  3. You enter the source and target values. The document category to be transported is N7RADEXAM, the document category version is 001. The document category must be transported using the transport variant Document Category Complete with All Application Names and Table Names! You start the program using Execute (F8).

We recommend that you define the document category N7RADEXAM as a technical document (DocCatTyp = "T").

The document category contains the document type REX. This document type, and the related status network, is available in the delivery client of your system. For maintaining the document type from the IMG, you call the menu option Industry-Specific Component Clinical System --> IS-H*MED Clinical Documentation --> IS-H*MED Document Management --> Define Document Types. Here you can use the compare option.

A different document type should be entered in the document category and the radiology customizing option "Maintain Parameters" under General Parameters for the parameter EXAM_DOKART.

Maintain Parameters

2. Specify creation time of the examination

In accordance with the work process in the organizational unit, you specify a suitable time for the creation of the examination and the RIS study. This time will also trigger the prefetching of prefindings.

The creation time can be set for organizational units (OU) and for building units (BU). An organizational unit must always be specified. The building unit can - but does not have to - be specified.

You can choose between the following creation times:

  • Generate when request confirmed
  • Generate when scheduling / planning (requires planning on the modality)
  • Generate when service is replaced (only makes sense with modalities which replace services)

For each OU and BU you must maintain an event for the creation of the examination.

3. Maintain OU-related parameters

Using the OU-related parameter N1RADVMA, you specify an employee responsible and authorized for the creation of the examination document and the study document. For more information, you should refer to the Maintain Parameters chapter.

Further notes

The following tables display selected DICOM statuses:

DICOM Study Status    Meaning    Example for Status Value

Study created    Study created    CR

Study scheduled    Study scheduled     SC

Patient arrived    Patient present    PA

Study started    Study started    ST

Study completed    Image acquisition completed    CO (mandatory status, cannot be changed)

Study read    Findings created for study    RE

DICOM Report Status    Meaning    Example for Status Value
