In this IMG activity, you define legal description field codes and field attributes which will be used in the base DOI and venture transactions. Legal description fields are used to identify a DOI geographically.

Activities
In the activity - on the Change View "Legal Description Fields": Overview screen, select Change --> New Entries. This will open the screen for you to make new entries. In the Fields column, enter the field. In the Format column, enter the format - for example: character, date, number, or time. In the Description column, you can enter a description.
Next, select the entry that you made within the Legal Description Fields screen area. In the Dialog Structure screen area at left, double click on Field Attributes.
The screen that is displayed allows you to enter the following attributes for the field that you selected:
- Unit of measure
- Formatting - output length, output decimals,
- Allowed values
- Data Dictionary - check table, check field, reference domain, search help, search parameter.
