In this step, you define the following number range intervals:
- number ranges for reprocessing records
- number ranges for document logs
- number ranges for run schedule headers
- number ranges for total dependent requirements
In the standard system, the interval 01 is set for internal number assignment.
You should not change the description of preset number range intervals for run schedule headers.
Tips for transporting number range objects:
You can transport number range objects as follows: In the initial screen, choose "Interval - Transport". Make sure that all intervals for the selected number range object are deleted in the target system, so that only the exported intervals exist after the import. The system imports the current number levels with the value valid at time of export. The system does not transport or convert dependent tables.
In this step, you also assign number ranges:
- Assigning number ranges for reprocessing records:
To each plant, you assign a number range for posting reprocessing records. The same number range can be used simultaneously in several plants.
Example:
plant Nrange valid for interval
0001 01 1 to 9999999999
0002 01 1 to 9999999999
Reprocessing records for plants 001 and 002 are administrated consecutively in number range 01.
- Assigning number ranges for document logs:
Proceed in the same way as for reprocessing records.
- Assigning number ranges for total dependent requirements
Proceed in the same way as for reprocessing records.
Activities
Define the number range with number range intervals by using 'Interval' to skip from the number range screen in Repetitive Manufacturing into the individual detail screens, where you can create number ranges. Then use 'Number range' to assign the number ranges to the appropriate plant.
